Arrive at MONA, Australia’s largest private museum, where ancient artifacts and contemporary art collide in a provocative and thought-provoking collection. Explore the underground galleries at your own pace, encountering works that challenge, inspire, and ignite curiosity. With approximately 2.5 hours to explore this World Heritage open-air museum, delve into the depths of Australia's penal history through a guided tour among the main penitentiary, solitary confinement cells and a haunting harbour cruise around the the Isle of the Dead. Get a sense of the isolation experienced by the convicts in this “inescapable prison." As the day winds down, continue through the charming town of Richmond, where history and charm intertwine. Stroll across Australia's oldest bridge, a convict-built sandstone structure rumored to be haunted, and savor local treats from the local Lolly Shop and Chocolatier! Return to Hobart around 6:00 pm.
